In your brain, sleep prepares itself naturally

Your sleep relies on a complex balance of several chemical messengers and biological rhythms that contribute to the alternation between wakefulness, relaxation, and sleep.
01

GABA — The inhibitory signal

GABA is one of the brain's primary inhibitory neurotransmitters. It helps reduce the activity of certain neurons and naturally participates in mechanisms that promote calmness and sleep.

02

MELATONIN — The night signal

Produced mainly when light decreases, melatonin helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle and helps the body synchronize its biological clock.

03

SEROTONIN — A messenger with multiple functions

Serotonin is involved in many bodily processes, including mood and certain mechanisms related to the sleep-wake cycle. It also participates in the biological pathways that allow for melatonin production.

04

BRAIN RHYTHMS — An evolving activity

The brain's electrical activity naturally evolves during wakefulness and the various stages of sleep. Several brain rhythms can be observed depending on the state of vigilance.

And the CES mode?

Cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) uses low-level electrical pulses. Its mechanism of action should not be confused with the natural production of GABA, melatonin, or serotonin.

CES: understanding stimulation

Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation

Low-intensity electrical stimulation
